Gary Mule Deer Opry Induction

Comedian Gary Mule Deer Becomes Newest Member of the Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry has a new member! Comedian Gary Mule Deer was officially inducted to the Opry on Friday, March 10.

Opry-member and country music legend Vince Gill did the honors of inducting Gary. Gary is the 230th member of the Grand Ole Opry, following fellow comedian Henry Cho, who was inducted earlier this year in February.

Comedy has always been a staple at the Grand Ole Opry, and Gary Mule Deer is no exception. The 83-year-old has appeared on the Opry stage over 160 times and has had a 60 year career in entertainment.

Both Gary Mule Deer and Henry Cho were invited to become members of the Opry by Marty Stuart back in January. The two mark the first comedians to be inducted since Jerry Clower became an Opry member 49 years ago.
