Kelsea Ballerini is going retro! The country music star just released her new music video for her hit song “IF YOU GO DOWN (I’M GOIN’ DOWN TOO)” —and it’s everything we wanted and more.
The Grammy award winner teased the release of the new video on her instagram, getting fans excited to see what was in store.

The video takes place in a 1960s/1970s cul-de-sac community that mimics the atmosphere of the Harry Styles/Florence Pugh “Don’t Worry Darling” movie — which is all the reason to love this video.
Ballerini portrays the plot of the song, which shows a young wife living next door taking on a murderous identity to eliminate her irritating husband. Although the storyline seems dark, Ballerini delivers it with a touch of humor through her characters actions. However, her plan is foiled by a neighbor who has a clear view into her home.
“I wanted something that had a real look and feel to it,” Ballerini explained in a press statement. “But it needed to be fun… and funny. I wanted something that made people laugh and clink their glasses, because when I wrote this, I wanted ‘If You Go Down’ to be a song that was a reason to turn up the dial.”
The song appears on Ballerini’s SUBJECT TO CHANGE album that released in 2022. She’s currently touring through the Summer and will be co-hosting the CMT Awards alongside Kane Brown on Sunday, April 2.
