Kelsea Ballerini Joins Kenny Chesney for Surprising Duet

Kenny Chesney officially started his ‘I Go Back Tour‘ on Thursday night, March 23, and the country music superstar wasted no time in delivering a show that exceeded all expectations — which included a surprise duet.

As the night went on, Chesney started to perform his 2014 hit single “Wild Child,” which was originally recorded as a duet with Grace Potter. As Chesney approached the chorus, Kelsea Ballerini made a grand entrance from backstage to join him.

Chesney announced back in 2022 that Ballerini would be joining him for his upcoming tour, which will last throughout the summer. During her 50-minute opening performance, Ballerini performed a set featuring several of her past singles such as “Hole in the Bottle,” “Heartfirst,” and a medley of “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs,” and “Yeah Boy,” along with other fan favorites. Fans also recorded Ballerini performing songs from her Subject to Change album and her most recent EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.

Naturally, Ballerini made sure to perform her award-winning 2021 duet, “Half of My Hometown,” with Chesney before leaving the stage. Together, the two Tennessee natives sang the popular song, which hits home for both artists as the song romanticizes their experience of leaving their shared hometown of Knoxville, TN to make it big in the country music industry.
