Lainey Wilson is currently one of the most sought-after talents in the country music industry— and she always knew she would be.
In a recent interview with People, Wilson admits that there was never a “plan B” when it came to her career path.
“I’ve known that this is my calling, and there’s nothing else that I want to do, that I can do, and I’ve always just kind of been like, ‘No plan B, this is it,'” she admitted.
Her country music career has exploded into great success very quickly over the last few years. The country star has won multiple awards at the ACMs, CMAs, and CMT Music Awards. She has also secured several chart-topping hits, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with some of country musics biggest names like Cole Swindell and Hardy.
“I wrote my first song at 9 years old,” she said. “I’m about to be 31 years old this year, and it’s like I’ve been preparing ever since I was 9 years old.”
“I feel like country music has finally decided to love me back as much as I’ve been loving it for my whole life,” she added.
One thing is for sure, Lainey Wilson is shaking up the world of country music— and it’s just the beginning.
Wilson is currently performing with Luke Combs on his world tour for 2023, for specific dates, along with shows planned for multiple festivals throughout the summer.
