Miranda Lambert Opens Up About Life After Leaving Sony Music

Miranda Lambert shocked the world by announcing her departure from Sony Music Nashville last month, marking the end of a 20 year partnership for the country singer.

In a recent interview, Lambert opened up about what life is looking like right now, and how she feels regarding the big changes that are happening.

“I am, for the first time in 20 years, a free agent,” Lambert said. “I don’t have a label and I feel pretty great about it.”

“And it feels very inspiring to get to go see what’s out there and what options there are,” she continued. “And, you know, it’s definitely a very different landscape than the first time I signed my first record deal at 19 years old.”

Although Miranda is enjoying life of navigating through her newfound freedom, she isn’t completely cut off with all ties to a record label. Lambert is still owner of Vanner Records, a label she launch back in 2016 alongside her double album The Weight of These Wings.

“Everything has changed in the business,” Lambert admitted, “and I’m excited to learn about it and hopefully be part of a new wave of whatever’s going on, because it changes so quickly.”

The decision to leave Sony doesn’t seem like it’s stopping Lambert from success at all whatsoever, as she was recently nominated for multiple categories at the ACM Awards including a nomination for the ceremony’s top award , Entertainer Of The Year. The future looks bright for Miranda!
