Shania Twain has exciting news for her fans!
Twain recently revealed that she will be releasing a super deluxe 25th anniversary edition of her hit third album, “Come on Over,” which is set to launch on August 25th through Mercury/UMe.
This special reissue will offer multiple bonus tracks, including fresh mixes and captivating live duets with artists such as Elton John, Chris Martin, Alison Krauss, and many others.
Since its initial release in 1997, the country-pop crossover album has achieved remarkable success. It achieved a staggering 20 times Platinum certification in the US and has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, solidifying its status as one of the most influential albums in music history. It also reigns as the top-selling country album and the highest-selling album by a female artist in history.
“With “Come on Over,” it was important for me to give what I thought was the best record of my life,” she said in a press statement. “That is why there’s so many songs on it. I thought, ‘Let’s just load this up in case there’s not another chance. Let’s not hold anything back.’ I thought this might be my only chance to really make an impact as a follow-up to the prior album, which was already certified Diamond. I knew I had more in me than one Diamond album.”
Continuing on, Twain elaborated on the two distinct versions of the album. She shared that the US mix, featuring country-style arrangements, and the international mix, incorporating drum machines and synthesizers, were intentionally crafted to captivate her diverse and extensive fan base.
“We had the luxury of producing multiple versions of the songs to fit each audience and I’m so happy to see all the versions packaged together for this reissue. This was an album that was really meant to bridge genres… [I wanted to] bring as many different people together as possible — so imagine how incredible it feels to still have a sense of bringing people together 25 years later? I’m at a great place in my life.”
