Road Stories

Bill Cody’s Hilarious Initiation to the Grand Ole Opry Gone Wrong!

On the newest episode of Circle Network’s Road Stories, Bill Cody sits back and relives some of his craziest stories from his career in country music with host Chuck Wicks. We all know and love Bill Cody as the host of WSM Radio‘s Coffee, Country & Cody as well as an announcer at the Grand Ole Opry.

Bill sat down with country artist and radio personality, Chuck Wicks, to share some of his most hilarious and unbelievable stories on his journey in the radio and music industry. One story that stuck out was his first night announcing at the Grand Ole Opry. He recalls that there used to to be some interesting initiation practices when you did your first live sponsor read at the Grand Ole Opry, and you won’t believe what happened to Bill during his!

The “initiation” was to try and get the announcer to break during their first read by any means necessary. And we mean by ANY means. We don’t want to give away too much, but let’s just say Bill Cody walked off stage with less than what he walked on stage with!! You’ll have to tune in to this week’s episode of Road Stories with Chuck Wicks to see what happened!
