Director of Programming

POSITION SUMMARY/ PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This Director role is responsible for the continued development, as well as enhancement, of workflows for a linear broadcast, and FAST/AVOD OTT channel.  This position will also establish the goal setting and success of the long-term programming analysis and moving Circle Media towards a “rated” channel.  The role will support the team leads in driving the program on a day-to-day basis.  Serves as one of the main points of contact for all live events in the Linear and OTT feed. The Director will also produce weekly consolidated status across multiple key initiatives while handling issues to ensure successful and timely program delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and execute programming and scheduling workflows for linear and other channels including FAST/AVOD programming feeds across Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Comcast’s Xumo, and other OTT services
  • Determine short term and long term roll out plans for upcoming premiering series, seasons, and specials, based upon contract terms and availability
  • Create quarterly grids, promo plans, develop stunts, graphic and secondary event requests and review all on air plans for the network
  • Strategize with Senior Leadership to establish long term programming goals
  • Drive audience growth to progress the network to a “rated” platform- with a focus on broadcast best practices, promotions, and effective audience engagement strategies
  • Develop and mentor direct reports and other Programming/Scheduling staff taking on new responsibilities and developing leadership competencies
  • Ensure program delivery directly supports the achievement of the Joint Venture strategic objectives
  • Coordinate with in-house teams to successfully manage and complete program deliverables
  • Create quarterly grids, rollout plans, promo plans, develop stunts, graphic and secondary event requests, and review all on air plans for the network
  • Liaison between Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, and Ad Sales for all programming specifics
  • Partner with OTT and act as an advocate for programming logistics
  • Own programming Standard Operating Procedures and updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • BA in Communication, Business or related field (or relative experience) required
  • At least eight years of Media Industry experience
  • At least four years of programming/scheduling leadership experience with an established network
  • Experience managing a portfolio of programs
  • Wide Orbit or similar system experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of all Microsoft Programs and Google Docs

Financial Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY/ PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The ideal candidate will have a financial accounting background and financial accounting experience in television or network broadcasting, linear and OTT. The role performs daily and monthly accounting and control procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including reconciliation of systems, month-end close, intercompany transactions, journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and assists with other month-end tasks and additional projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Initiates or reconciles operational transactions daily and maintains relevant documentation
  • Reviews activity and prepares journal entries to record daily transactions.
  • Reviews, updates, and reconciles intercompany balances, including reconciling daily activities with Treasury
  • Initiates and assists with period-end closing procedures (e.g. journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, matching and confirming intercompany balances)
  • Performs all AP/AR functions for the company o Processes and manages accounts payable, purchase orders and expense report accounting o Responsible for certain invoicing, payment processing and deposits
  • Responsible for all content accounting in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversees and analyzes cost expenditures and purchases within the organization
  • Performs ad hoc duties and projects as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting or closely related field required
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience in accordance with GAAP
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks Online, Wide Orbit, and Microsoft Office preferred

Billing Traffic Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY/ PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position will primarily be responsible for all invoicing and payment posting for the linear network. The incumbent will also assist the Controller with other related tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares Ad Sales invoices from Post Logs
  • Posts payments and adjustments
  • Ensures all billing and payment practices work for Financial Controller
  • Manages credit access to Circle
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Wide Orbit or similar system experience preferred
  • Billing and/or invoicing experience a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Content Media Asset Coordinator

We are looking for a highly organized individual to work with the Programming Department and Media Asset Team to prepare content for distribution to Circle’s growing list of streaming partners.  Assets will be for all aspects of the network, including but not limited to, Linear Fast Feed, on-air promotion, marketing and social.  This person will also lead the efforts of quality control for all content.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep track of all Linear, promo and social media content
  • Develop a deep understanding of the various streaming partners’ content specifications and establish realistic timelines for delivery
  • Upload content to the MAM system and help with file structure and metadata entry
  • Fulfill content requests from internal and external parties on an as-needed basis
  • Quality Control content delivered to the network when needed

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in video post-production or television production preferred
  • Must have an understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Keep track of all Linear, promo and social media content
  • Understanding of the various streaming partners’ content specifications and establish realistic timelines for delivery
  • Premiere Pro and Photoshop experience preferred
  • Knowledge of video formats, file formats and codecs preferred
  • Knowledge of Post-Production ecosystems and possess ability to create and administer complex workflows to support efficiency and simplification
  • Detail oriented and works well under tight deadlines
  • Highly organized and has experience creating intuitive folder structures
  • Passion and knowledge of country music and country lifestyle is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines

You can witness and gain behind the scenes experience with our linear and VOD Media country lifestyle network.  Our internships run in the Spring, Summer and Fall College Semesters.  This PAID internship can flex between part time to full time hours.

Marketing Sponsorship and Sales:

  • Assist with tracking, organizing, and delivering partnership elements and marketing materials. 
  • Create partner assets and marketing materials, draft talent interviews and more
  • Oversee press release creation and track media hits/exposure
  • Track and compile all sponsor marketing deliverables, update tracking sheet weekly
  • Help brainstorm and create liners for talent to utilize for marketing and stunt purposes
  • Assist with distributing stunt materials/programming to AVOD platforms
  • Distribute all-staff updates on notable partner events and press releases
  • Assist marketing team with video editing and creation

Production/Content Intern:

  • Create content at all stages of the production process
  • Attend production shoots
  • Work alongside our team of editors
  • Assist with quality control
  • Help with delivery/distribution of finished content.
  • Format acquired content for the network alongside our team of editors
  • Attend production shoots to learn and assist when needed

Social Media Intern:

  • Assist and produce engaging, creative visual social content for the brand’s social communities (photo, video, gif…)
  • Learn how to adapt our existing brand voice to the social environment 
  • Promote our new content airing on linear, cable and VOD networks

  • Deliver consistent social media content with the look and feel for the brand, that is uniquely adapted to each social platform and audience, and targets fans and artists

Internship Qualifications:

  • Currently attending college or have graduated within a year of program start date
  • Interested in a career in television and/or client management
  • Marketing- Skilled users of social media and Google apps; working knowledge of Premiere Pro
  • Production- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects proficiency preferred
  • Social Media- Knowledge on posting content to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, SnapChat, Tiktok, and blogging outlets.
  • Self-starters who thrive working in collaborative settings
  • Able to commit up to 30 hours per week
  •  Extremely detail-oriented and organized
