Brenda Lee Releases First Official Music Video for “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” After 65 Years

Get ready to jingle all the way, folks! Country Music Hall of Famer Brenda Lee is turning up the holiday cheer to celebrate the 65th birthday of her legendary hit, “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” by releasing the first-ever official music video for the holiday anthem.

Shot right in the heart of Nashville, this music video is more star-studded than a Christmas tree covered in tinsel. Country superstars Tanya Tucker and Trisha Yearwood join the fun, making it the Christmas party of the year.

This timeless classic, written by the holiday hitmaker Johnny Marks, was born when Brenda was just 13-years-old. Fast forward, and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was giving Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” a run for its jingle bells as the third most-streamed Christmas song, according to Billboard. It even got a shiny 5x Platinum certification from the RIAA, making it the real deal for everyone’s holiday season.

Now, for the first time in over six decades, Brenda Lee decided to gift us an official music video. The video is like a warm cup of cocoa for your eyes, with Brenda getting into the holiday spirit by trimming the tree and baking cookies– and even Santa himself makes a cameo!

And if that’s not enough holiday magic for you, Brenda Lee is taking her show to your television screens. She’s all set to perform “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” on the NBC television special, “Christmas at the Opry,” on December 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Don’t miss this wonderful Christmas event. Show your holiday spirit and make sure to tune in.
