Carrie Underwood Goes Rock and Roll With Unexpected Motörhead Cover

Carrie Underwood is in her Rock and Roll era.

Throughout her recent trio of performances in Canada, which included a show in Moncton on Saturday, August 5th, Carrie Underwood delivered a dynamic rendition of Motörhead’s timeless 1980 hit, “Ace of Spades,” as the opening act for Guns N’ Roses.

Remaining notably faithful to the original rendition, Underwood and her band maintained a closely aligned arrangement. However, it was clear that she would add her own country twist to the original snarly vocal style.

Along with the homage to Motörhead, Underwood treated the audience to a selection of cover songs, encompassing Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” i-Ten’s “Alone,” Miranda Lambert’s “Somethin’ Bad,” The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.”

Underwood became a part of Guns N’ Roses tour for a total of six performances during the North American leg, including the recent trio of shows in Canada. Additionally, she is scheduled to kick off the group’s concert on August 26th at GEODIS Park in Nashville.
