Dolly Parton Reveals Why She Declined an Invite from Kate Middleton to Have Tea

The Queen of country had to politely decline an invitation from the royal family.

In a recent conversation on BBC Radio 2, as reported by the Daily Mail, Dolly Parton disclosed that she had traveled to London for work, and her agenda had been incredibly busy.

In fact, her schedule was so jam-packed that she had to decline an invitation from Kate Middleton to have tea.

“This time, Lordy, I even got invited to have tea with Kate but I couldn’t even go, the country icon revealed. “I thought it was very sweet and nice of her to invite me and one of these days I’m going to get to do that – that would be great.”

And is true Dolly fashion, she jokingly added, “But she wasn’t going to promote my rock album so I had to say no.”

That’s right, Dolly is going Rock & Roll. Following her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, her 49th studio album, titled Rockstar, is scheduled for release on November 17th. This album consists of an impressive lineup of 30 tracks and an abundance of special guest appearances, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks and many others.
