Kenny Chesney recently surprised fans by making an impromptu appearance at a popular Key West bar, Capt. Tony’s.
The country superstar treated the lucky audience to an acoustic set, which he later shared on his social media.
In the post, Chesney can be seen performing his 2010 hit song, “You and Tequila.”
He expressed his gratitude to everyone present for allowing him to sit in and enjoy the moment. The spontaneous performance added a special touch to the already vibrant atmosphere of the venue, leaving the audience with a memorable experience.
“Feeding my creative soul at Capt. Tony’s. Thanks to everyone for allowing me to sit in,” Chesney captioned the video.
“You and Tequila ,” originally a collaboration with Chesney and Grace Potter, is featured on his album “Hemingway’s Whiskey,” which earned a nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Captain Tony’s holds a strong musical history in Key West, as it was a regular venue for Jimmy Buffett in the 1970s. In fact, Buffett paid tribute to the bar in the first line of the title track on his 1985 album Last Mango in Paris.
