Is Lainey Wilson Quitting Music?

Country music star Lainey Wilson made her acting debut on Yellowstone Season 5 as character Abby, a fellow musician. Her role in the show came about after she became friends with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, in 2018.

“He called me last February and he said, ‘I want to create a character specifically for you, and I want you to wear your bell bottoms. I want you to sing your own songs and be yourself but go by a musician named Abby,” Wilson explained during an interview.

After her recurring roll in the popular drama, fans are curious if Wilson would ever put a pause on music to grow her acting career.

However, it doesn’t look like the opportunity is enough for the country star to give up her true passion of music.

“I will never not make songwriting my priority because the songwriting is what has given me all the rest of these opportunities,” Wilson clarified.

Wilson just hit a huge milestone in her music career, winning big at the CMT Awards 2023. She won her first CMT Award for Collaborative Video of the Year for with HARDY for their song “Wait in the Truck.” She also won the Female Video of the Year Award for her song “Heart Like a Truck,” off her 2022 album Bell Bottom Country.

Although we’re excited to see if Lainey Wilson will star in anymore acting projects, it’s good to hear that we can always expect music first!
