During her performance at the Voices of America Country Music Fest in West Chester, OH, Lainey Wilson gave the ultimate birthday surprise to a young boy in the crowd.
VOACMF revealed that they had partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together, they orchestrated a special opportunity for a fan named Johnathan, by inviting him to the 2023 festival and ensuring he had an extraordinary experience.
In Wilson’s post, we can see the country star holding Johnathan’s hand onstage, leading a version of “Happy Birthday” along with the excited crowd. Also, there’s a sweet moment captured backstage where the two share a heartfelt hug, bringing a big smile to his face.
“Got to meet a sweet new friend at @voacountrymusicfest… Johnathan “J”, I hope it was the best birthday yet. ❤️OH, thank you for helping make his birthday a dang good one,” Wilson captioned the heartwarming photos.
Only yesterday, the news broke that Wilson has the highest number of nominations among female artists for the upcoming People’s Choice Country Awards. She’s scored an impressive seven nominations, including The People’s Artist of 2023, The Female Artist of 2023, The Song of 2023, The Album of 2023, The Music Video of 2023, and The Collaboration of 2023. Among these, she even earned two collaboration nods – one for “wait in the truck” with HARDY, and another for “Save Me” with Jelly Roll.
