Miranda Lambert Reacts to Fan’s “Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies” Shirt at Concert, Takes Tequila Shot on Stage

A week after facing criticism for scolding concert-goers for taking selfies, new videos emerge showing Miranda Lambert interacting with a fan during her concert.

In the recently shared clips, the country star, who has been performing her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency, addressed a fan wearing a shirt that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies.”

“She did it, I didn’t,” Lambert jokingly told the crowd.

Miranda praised the fan’s shirt once more with a smile saying, “That’s bada–.”

To further embrace the spirit, she accepted a mini tequila bottle from the audience, raised a toast, and confidently took a shot onstage.

This was the first time that Lambert has addressed the now-infamous moment where she paused her concert in Las Vegas due to fans taking selfies last week.

“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert addressed the audience while starting to sing her 2016 single “Tin Man.”  “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.”

“It’s pissing me off a little bit,” she continued. “Sorry, I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”

“Shall we start again?” she asked the audience shortly after.

Lambert’s bold move to stand against excessive phone usage during concerts has become a topic of division on the internet. Some applauded her stance, while others felt she went too far by singling out individuals.
