Grab some whiskey glasses, because it’s been a really exciting week for Morgan Wallen! The country music star has officially scored the title as the No. 1 album in the country (all genres). Wallen’s latest album One Thing at a Time has single handedly beaten out its competing 9 album’s on the Billboard 200 Top 10, giving Wallen and Big Loud Records the largest week of any album in 2023 so far.
The “Last Night” singer released his 3rd studio album on March 3rd, quickly making its way as one of the most sold albums in country music history. Wallen currently holds the No. 5 spot for most sold album in history, right behind Drake, Taylor Swift and 21 Savage.
Wallen shocked fans by releasing a total of 36 songs on his album, which puts him above the average album length of his Billboard competitors. Although this is an obvious advantage for streaming totals, numbers show that it would still be one of the best streaming country weeks even if the number of songs were cut in half.
His previous album that was released in 2021, Dangerous:The Double Album, had spent 110 non-consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart, the second longest streak of any album.
Wallen is set to start his World tour, named “One Night at a Time,” which is planned to begin in April and will continue all the way through October 2023. The One Night at a Time tour will have more than 55 shows across Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Canada.
