Nelly is taking a dive into his country roots with a special performance of his song “Over and Over.”
During the 16th annual Academy of Country Music Honors, Nelly honored Tim McGraw, who received this year’s ACM Icon award, with a live performance of the song. People Magazine exclusively premiered this special tribute.
With McGraw in the audience, witnessing the enchanting rendition, he and his wife, Faith Hill, were caught up in the moment, joyfully singing along to Nelly’s performance.
The song originally appeared on Nelly’s popular album Suit in 2004, featuring Tim McGraw. It made a significant impact on the charts, reaching number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topping charts in several countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. It later found its place on McGraw’s 2006 compilation album, Reflected: Greatest Hits Vol. 2.
The ACM Honors took place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on August 23, and will be broadcast tonight, Monday, September 18 at 8/7c on FOX and streaming next day on Hulu.
