Who needs fancy restaurants and over priced food anyways?
In an interview with PEOPLE, Lainey Wilson revealed where her and her boyfriend, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, went to on their first date— and it earned him major relationship points.
“We went to this old place called Silverados, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10 p.m.,” she says. “I was like, ‘This boy likes to ball on a budget too. This is gonna work out.’”
Seems like the first date set the couple up for nothing but success, as Lainey recently announced that her and the former NFL player have actually been dating for 2 years now.
“I said, ‘We gonna see if you’re in it for the right reasons.’ Turns out, he is,” she said.
Wilson and Hodge publicly announced their relationship just a few months ago, making their red carpet debut at the ACM Awards.
While focusing on her upcoming album, Wilson expresses that her primary source of inspiration at the moment is her “healthy relationship” with Hodges, who she affectionately referred to as “one of my biggest cheerleaders and champions.”
“I was never really able to write love songs, because I don’t know if I had actually felt it, but I’m writing me some love songs now,” she says. “I’m grateful for him.”
