Jamey Johnson Joins Viral Sensation Oliver Anthony to Perform ‘In Color’

Viral country music singer, Oliver Anthony, was in for major surprise as country star Jamey Johnson unexpectedly teamed up with him on stage.

Last Sunday (Aug. 13), Anthony rocked a free gig at Morris Farm Market in Barco, North Carolina. He mentioned on social media that the show pulled in a crowd big enough to pack 25 acres with cars.

But the real kicker for Anthony was when country singer-songwriter and Grand Ole Opry member, Jamey Johnson, hopped in on the action. They teamed up and gave their own spin to Johnson’s 2008 smash “In Color,” catching Anthony completely off guard.

“I’m not sure I’ll ever top this moment where Jamey Johnson surprised me to sing his all-time classic with me on stage,” shared Anthony on social media. “What a legend.”

Oliver Anthony is a farmer hailing from the quiet corners of Farmville, Virginia, and living a seemingly off-the-grid life. However, he quickly shot to viral fame overnight due to his politically-charged track titled “Rich Men North Of Richmond,” racking up an impressive 20 million views on YouTube in just a little over a week.

“Rich Men North of Richmond” skyrocketed to the No. 1 position on both the iTunes Country and iTunes General charts within just one week of its release on Tuesday, August 7th, knocking Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town” from the coveted top spot.

Currently, Anthony dominates the Top 10 of the iTunes Country chart with several of his other tracks. Alongside this, he has garnered over half a million followers on his social media platforms. He has even caught the attention of rapper and record executive Gucci Mane who showed interest in signing him to his label.
